OMR mode: practice bubbling for pen-and-paper exams

A question booklet plus an on-screen OMR sheet, a bubbling-time warning, and printable papers.

Why practice OMR?

Super TET, CTET, UP TGT, UP PGT and UP Police (in its last recruitment exam) are pen-and-paper exams marked from an OMR sheet. Only what you bubble is scored. Many students know the answer and still lose marks: they run out of time to bubble, skip a row, or fill the wrong circle. OMR mode trains exactly that.

For these exams the start page offers OMR practice and selects it by default. You can still choose on-screen (CBT) mode if you prefer.

How it works

  1. Question booklet. All the questions in one scrolling booklet, like the printed paper. Tap an option to tick it, the way you would mark the booklet with a pencil. A tick is only a note to yourself: it is not scored.
  2. OMR answer sheet. A numbered sheet with bubbles A, B, C and D for each question. Fill a bubble to give your answer. Only bubbled answers count.
  3. On a large screen you see the booklet and the sheet side by side. On a phone, move between them with the Question booklet and OMR answer sheet tabs.

The bubbling-time warning

Near the end, about 10 minutes before time runs out (a little earlier in longer papers), a reminder appears: "Bubbling time: transfer your booklet answers to the OMR sheet now." Aim to finish solving before it appears.

When you submit, the summary also tells you how many questions you ticked in the booklet but never bubbled. On exam day those would score nothing, so treat this number as your most important warning.

Bubbling tips

  • Bubble in blocks (say, after every 10 to 20 questions) or keep a fixed slot at the end. Try both in mocks and stick with what works for you.
  • Check the question number on the sheet every few rows so you never shift a whole row.
  • On screen you can change a bubble, but a real OMR sheet can't be cleanly erased. Practice bubbling once, carefully.
  • On exam day, always follow the instructions printed on the official OMR sheet and your admit card.

Confidence tags and keyboard shortcuts are available in on-screen (CBT) mode only.

Print the paper and the OMR sheet

For a fully offline rehearsal, choose Print it and enter answers later on the start page. You get a printable question booklet (/print/booklet/…) and a printable OMR sheet (/print/omr/…).

  1. Print both. Sit at a table with a pen and a timer set to the exam's duration.
  2. Solve in the booklet and bubble the sheet, just as on the real day.
  3. Come back and enter the answers you bubbled. You then get the full report: score, sections, topics and the question-by-question review.

Because you solved on paper, we can't see how long you spent on each question, so the report can't show your time per question.

Questions

I ticked answers in the booklet. Why did they score zero?

Ticks in the booklet are your rough work. As in the real exam, only bubbles on the OMR sheet are scored. Leave time to bubble; the warning near the end is your cue.

Can I use OMR mode for SSC or banking mocks?

No. Those exams are computer-based, so their mocks use the on-screen (CBT) interface. OMR practice appears only for exams held on OMR sheets.

What if I fill two bubbles for one question?

Our on-screen sheet lets you fill only one bubble per question. On exam day, filling more than one circle is never counted as a right answer, and some exams deduct marks for it. Check the official instructions for your exam.
