Report an error in a question

Spotted a wrong key, a typo or a translation slip? Tell us. We check it, fix it in public and thank you.

We work hard to get every question right, but mistakes can still slip through. You are our best second pair of eyes.

How to report

  • During a test: press ⚑ Report an error at the top of the question. Choose the problem (answer key looks wrong, typo or spelling, Hindi and English don't match, more than one answer fits, or other) and add details if you like.
  • After a test: in your report, every question has a Report an error button too.

The test clock keeps running while the form is open, so in a timed mock you may prefer to note the question number and report it from your report after submitting.

For anything else on the site, such as a broken page or a wrong date on an exam page, use Report a problem.

What happens next

  1. We review every report.
  2. If the problem is real, the question is flagged and taken out of newly built practice sets while we fix it.
  3. Once it is fixed, the correction appears in the public fix log with the date and what changed. If you were logged in when you reported, we email you when it is fixed.
  4. If you ticked Credit me in the public fix log, we thank you there by first name and initial.

When three or more different students report the same serious problem (a wrong key, an ambiguous question or a Hindi–English mismatch), the question is flagged automatically and kept out of new practice sets until a reviewer has checked it, even before we reach it in the queue.

Why a public fix log?

Mistakes happen everywhere; hiding them is not how we work. The fix log shows exactly what we corrected and when.

Questions

Do I need to be logged in to report an error?

No, anyone can report. Log in if you would like an email when it is fixed and your name in the fix log.

What kind of problems should I report?

A wrong answer key, more than one defensible answer, a wrong or outdated fact, Hindi and English versions that differ, a typo that changes the meaning, or a diagram you can't read. If in doubt, report it. We would rather check than miss it.

Can I report a mistake on an exam page, like a date?

Yes. Use the "Report it" link in the Sources section at the bottom of the exam page, or Report a problem. We check it against the official document.
