Cancelled question rule

A question or answer option found faulty after objections is cancelled, and its marks are redistributed by the Allahabad High Court formula (WP 2669(MB)/2009, Pawan Kumar Agrahari v. UPPSC): correct answers × prescribed marks ÷ number of correct (valid) questions. If more than one option is correct, any one correct option gets full marks.

Check your eligibility

The checker can only say "likely eligible — confirm with the notification". It never gives a final verdict.

08 How to apply & fee

There is no open Constable application right now. In the 2025 recruitment the process was as below; the next advertisement may change details, so follow it when it is published.

  1. One Time Registration (OTR) first, then the application, at apply.upprpb.in.
  2. Fill the form and give your post preferences carefully: the final list used normalised written marks together with the order of post preference in the application.
  3. Upload your photo and signature as specified in the advertisement.
  4. Pay the fee by the last date (the 2025 amounts are listed below).
  5. Save the confirmation page and fee receipt.

In 2025 there was one one-time correction window (31 January to 3 February 2026). Reservation was only for UP domicile candidates holding a domicile certificate from the District Magistrate or competent officer (the address on a caste certificate was not accepted); for women's reservation, women from any state were considered.

Common mistakes

  • Name or date of birth that does not match your High School certificate.
  • Claiming a reservation without the required certificate issued by the last date of application.
  • Rushing the post preferences.
  • Leaving it to the last day, and not saving the confirmation page.

11 Weightage explorer

There are no publicly released UPPRPB papers to count, so we show no topic-by-year counts for this exam. The official documents give only 150 questions and 300 marks for the four subjects together, with no per-subject split; the subject and topic mix in our mocks is our editorial judgement, based on the indicative syllabus in Appendix-1 of the advertisement, and is labelled as such. It is never a probability of what will be asked.

Method: We count how many questions each topic had in each officially released paper (we tag each question ourselves). We show the number of papers counted, each year's count, and the spread. This is past frequency — not a prediction or a probability.
No officially released papers have been tagged for this exam yet, so there is nothing honest to show here.

12 Previous year papers

UPPRPB has not released its Constable question papers publicly. In 2025, during objections and for the final key, each candidate could see only their own paper after logging in. On 5 March 2026 UPPRPB also warned content creators, social-media platforms and individuals not to discuss, analyse or spread its question papers or their content, citing the UP Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

So we do not host UPPRPB papers, memory-based questions or paper analysis. Our mocks use original questions written to the official syllabus. If UPPRPB ever releases papers publicly on uppbpb.gov.in, we will consider adding them only from there, and only if that is permitted.

Official previous papers

Not publicly released. During objections (20–23 Jun 2026) and for the final key (to 6 Aug 2026) each candidate could see only their own question paper and key after logging in.

15 Selection process

The 2025 recruitment had four stages and no interview:

  1. Written exam: merit on normalised marks, with minimum qualifying marks by category.
  2. Document verification and physical standard test (DV/PST), qualifying. About 2.33 times the category-wise posts (76,184 candidates) were called, in merit order.
  3. Physical efficiency test (PET), a qualifying run timed electronically: men 4.8 km in 25 minutes, women 2.4 km in 14 minutes. There is no second chance and no appeal if you miss the standard.
  4. Final list on normalised written marks and your order of post preference, under the reservation rules; then medical examination and character verification by the appointing authority.

No waiting list is prepared. So the written exam decides your rank, while the physical tests decide whether you stay in the race: train for the run alongside your studies, and check the next advertisement for its standards.

Dvpst shortlist

Candidates who met the minimum qualifying marks were called for DV/PST in merit order at about 2.33 times the category-wise posts: 76,184 candidates, including everyone tied at the cut-off. All qualified Home Guards, freedom-fighter-dependant and ex-servicemen category candidates were called.

Medical standards

Normalisation

Because the exam ran in several shifts, marks were normalised using UPPRPB's formula of 18 Dec 2023: normalised mark = (M̄t − Mq) ÷ (M̄ti − Miq) × (Mij − Miq) + Mqgm, where M̄t is the average of the top 0.1% across all shifts, Mq the mean + SD across all shifts, M̄ti the average of the top 0.1% in shift i, Miq the mean + SD of shift i, Mij the candidate's actual marks, and Mqgm the mean + SD of the shift with the highest mean + SD. Computed to 5 decimal places. Merit and cut-offs use normalised marks.

Pet rules

Qualifying run only. Electronic timing with CCTV and biometrics; no manual timing. Result shown on the notice board at the venue the same day. Failing the standard gets no second chance and no appeal, including on health grounds. A missed date can be rescheduled once only by applying to the committee on the test day; no date after the final/reserve day. No extension for pregnancy. Use of steroids/stimulants leads to cancellation.

Pst process

Measured by the district DV/PST committee. A candidate unhappy with a measurement can appeal the same day; they are re-measured before an Additional SP, and failing again is final. Measurements from earlier recruitments or other institutions are not accepted.

16 Admit card & exam-day kit

In the 2025 recruitment, UPPRPB first released a District/City Information Slip (1 June 2026), then the written-exam admit card 3 days before each exam date. Later stages had their own admit cards: DV/PST from 10 August 2026 and PET from 24 September 2026. All were downloaded from uppbpb.gov.in with the registration number and date of birth. Expect a similar sequence next time, but follow the new notices.

Exam-day checklist

  • Printed admit card, plus a spare copy.
  • Original photo ID, as instructed on the admit card.
  • The type of pen the instructions specify.
  • Only the items your admit card permits. Follow the instructions printed on your admit card.
  • Reach early: frisking and identity checks take time.

OMR do's and don'ts

  • Fill your roll number and question-booklet series carefully, exactly as instructed.
  • Darken one circle per question, fully and neatly; never mark two options for one question.
  • Ink cannot be erased, so decide first, then darken; don't use whitener or an eraser.
  • No stray marks on the sheet, and don't fold it.

For PET in 2025, candidates needed the admit card, a valid original photo ID (e-Aadhaar, passport or driving licence) and the original Aadhaar card.

Admit card

Written exam: District/City Information Slip on 1 Jun 2026, admit card 3 days before each exam date (5, 6, 7 Jun 2026). DV/PST admit card from 10 Aug 2026. PET admit card from 24 Sep 2026. All via uppbpb.gov.in with registration number and date of birth.

17 Answer key & objections

In the 2025 recruitment, online objections on the questions and answer keys of all six shifts were invited from 20 to 23 June 2026; each candidate could see only their own question paper and key after logging in. After expert review, the answer option of one question was changed, and the final key published on 31 July 2026 is final: no further objections are accepted.

Scoring: +2 for each correct answer (150 questions, 300 marks). Whether a wrong answer carries any deduction is awaiting official confirmation: the 2025 documents give only +2 per correct answer, but none says outright that there is no negative marking. So, using only the confirmed rule, raw score = 2 × correct; check the next advertisement for the wrong-answer rule. Our score calculator applies the official marking.

Two more rules from 2025: a question cancelled after objections has its marks redistributed by the Allahabad High Court formula, and because the exam ran in several shifts, merit and cut-offs used normalised marks. To object next time, follow the window and procedure in UPPRPB's notice and attach proof from a standard source.

Answer key outcome

Objections were invited on all six shifts' papers and keys (20–23 Jun 2026). After expert review, the answer option of 1 question was changed; the final key (31 Jul 2026) is final and no further objections are accepted.

18 Salary & career path

As per the 2025 advertisement, the posts are at Pay Level 3, pay matrix ₹21,700–69,100 (old: pay band ₹5,200–20,200, grade pay ₹2,000). Check the next advertisement for its pay details; allowances depend on posting and Government orders.

We show the official pay level and scale only. "In-hand" salary depends on allowances, posting and deductions, so we don't guess it.

19 Preparation roadmap

The next recruitment is awaited, so use the time to build a base on the four subjects of the 2025 written exam: General Knowledge, General Hindi, Numerical and Mental Ability, and Mental Aptitude, IQ and Reasoning Ability. Once the advertisement is out, count back from the exam date.

60 days out

  • Take a free mock (free practice) for a baseline.
  • Rotate the four subjects through the week, with General Knowledge in a fixed daily slot.
  • Every day: one daily sprint, Today's 3 tasks in your workspace, and a training run.

30 days out

  • One full 150-question mock a week in OMR mode, in one 2-hour sitting.
  • Log every wrong answer with its reason in your Mistake Notebook.

15 days out

  • Two full mocks a week; revise from your Mistake Notebook.
  • Get your documents ready: Class 12 certificate, domicile and category certificates.

7 days out

  • One last mock, then light revision; practice OMR filling.
  • Download the district slip and admit card as soon as they open.

This is a guide, not a promise of marks: adjust it to your mock results.

21 FAQs

Is the next UP Police Constable recruitment out?

Not yet. No new Constable advertisement is listed on uppbpb.gov.in as of 30 October 2026. The 2025 recruitment (32,679 posts) ended with the final result on 14 October 2026. We show no figure for the next recruitment until UPPRPB publishes one.

Is there negative marking?

This is awaiting official confirmation. The 2025 documents give +2 per correct answer and mention no deduction for wrong answers, and the 31 December 2025 rules amendments removed the earlier line on negative marks. But no document says in so many words that there is no negative marking, so check the next advertisement.

What was the written exam pattern in 2025?

An offline, pen-and-paper OMR exam: 150 questions, 300 marks, 2 hours, +2 per correct answer, four options per question. The four subjects were General Knowledge; General Hindi; Numerical and Mental Ability; and Mental Aptitude, IQ and Reasoning Ability. The official documents give no per-subject question split.

What are the minimum qualifying marks?

In the written exam (2025): Unreserved 30%, EWS 25%, OBC 25%, SC/ST 20%.

In which language is the paper?

In 2025, all subjects were in Hindi and English except General Hindi. If in doubt, the English version prevails.

What educational qualification is needed?

In 2025: Class 12 (intermediate) from a board established by law in India, or a government-recognised equivalent, held when applying. Candidates who had appeared or were appearing were not eligible.

Is there an interview?

No. The 2025 stages were the written exam, DV/PST, PET and the merit list, followed by medical examination and character verification. No waiting list is prepared.

How were marks normalised?

Because the 2025 exam ran in six shifts with a different paper in each, marks were normalised by UPPRPB's procedure of 18 December 2023, and merit and cut-offs used normalised marks. UPPRPB says candidates' normalised scores will be available on its website in the third and fourth week of November 2026.

What was the pay?

As per the 2025 advertisement: Pay Level 3, pay matrix ₹21,700–69,100. We don't publish an "in-hand" figure.
