Hindi or English: choosing your language

Switch the whole site, or flip any single question between Hindi and English during a test.

The site language

Use the हिन्दी / English button at the top of any page to switch the whole site. Public pages have their own Hindi addresses (starting with /hi/), so you can bookmark or share the version you prefer.

When you are logged in, your choice is also saved to your profile. You can change it any time in Profile & settings.

Inside a test: switch any question

Every bilingual question has a small language button next to the question number. It shows EN while you are reading Hindi and हिं while you are reading English. Tap it to switch that question. On a keyboard, press L.

  • The language you pick last becomes the default for the questions that follow.
  • It is remembered on this device, so your next test opens in the same language.
  • If you have never picked one, the test opens in the site language you are using.
  • The options switch together with the question and keep the same order: option A in Hindi is option A in English.

The same button is on every question in the OMR booklet view too.

Single-language sections

Some sections test a language itself, such as a Hindi language section or an English language section. In the real exam these are printed in one language only, so in our mocks they are too: those questions have no language button. Where the real exam lets you choose one of two language sections, you choose it on the start page before the test begins.

Reports and explanations

Your report shows the questions and step-by-step explanations in the site language. Want the other language? Switch the site language and open the report again.

Questions

Does switching language during a test cost me time?

The clock keeps running as usual, but the switch is instant. Many students read a tricky question in both languages; that is exactly what the button is for.

The Hindi and English versions of a question don't match.

Please press "Report an error" on that question and choose "Hindi and English don't match". We check every report and record confirmed fixes in the public fix log.

Why can't I switch the English language section to Hindi?

Because the real exam tests your English there. Translating it would make the mock easier than the real thing. The same applies the other way round for Hindi language sections.
